Online Shopping

January 6, 2008

One of my favourite pastime activities is shopping! Ever since I have broadband Internet connection, I develop the love for online surfing. Combining these two activities together, my another beloved activity is —- Yeah!! Online shopping!! I do think that online shopping is a potential business, judging at the widespread of the Internet connectivity. More and more people spend more time at home, surfing the Internet! So, there is more and more opportunities ONLINE!

Recently a lot of my friends start their online business, which I think is a promising business. I intend to start my own online clothing business as well. I have an uncle who managed a large fashion retail shop in Malaysia. I hope I can get my supply from him. I am currently in touch with a company in Taiwan, which may become my another source. Then I need to setup my website, which is not a big problem as I have a friend who specialized in designing website. I think I can count on him.

But, how are my future customers going to do their payment? I think I need a secure and user-friendly online shopping cart software. It must not be too expensive as I don’t have much capital to spend. I have been searching high and low for this kind of software. Luckily, my friend introduced me to a nice and simple shopping cart software solution provided by Ashop Commerce.

Ashop!

It is good that they offers the user 10 days free trial!! I tried it out and it really impressed me! It is very simple, straight-forward, and no programming knowledge required to setup the software. Although the setup is simple, the software is sophisticated. It allows me to customize the design, the payment method, shipping, tax, discount and other important features for my business!!

Most importantly, it is very affordable. BINGO! This is exactly what I need for my new online clothing business.

I have been eyeing this purse for long time. But as I am not rich, I have never paid much attention to what purse this is.. I just want to find something similar to this at budget price.

However, Vanessa Hudgens carried a black one in one of her outings. She looked so cool and put together. She always dresses herself nicely and appropriate for her age.

It does not get any more classic than this. Launched in February 1955, the Chanel 2.55 (Get it?) is as stylish today as it was 50 years ago. The bag features a double chain shoulder strap that allows a woman’s hands to be free, a special invention of Coco Chanel.

Chanel has reissued this epic design that started it all. Subdued turn clasp is sans the CC claps we are used to, making it more discrete. Double flap closure, and exterior love letter pocket complete the design. The purse is being created in seven sizes and three colors; gray with ruthenium, white with antique nickel, and black with aged gold hardware. Prices range from $1795-2490 (Ouch!).

Shopping spree!

December 16, 2007

To prepare for my new job, I went shopping yesterday in Westfield Shopping Mall and CHASE in Chatswood.

Managed to find myself a pair of wedges that I love in Target:

They were AUD26.25 after 25% discount.

Also bought a purple short-sleeved cardigan at Portmans. Read the rest of this entry »

Fashion Trend 2008

December 15, 2007

Fortune Magazine predicted that scarf will be one of the top five fashion trends in the year of 2008. I totally adore scarf and think that it is the best accessory to keep me warm and fashionable. In summer-all-year singapore, we don’t have a lot of chances to rock a scarf. However, moving to australia gives me opportunities to buy some really nice scarves and keep my neck warm!

Here is diane kruger rocking the scarf trend. I like her boldness and creativity of pairing a cute scarf with a cute white dress..

I totally adore her look in 3.1 Phillip Lim white dress, completed with an embroidered scarf and patent Louboutins. Read the rest of this entry »

I am panic.. I saw a few wrinkles/fine lines around my eyes when I smiled another day!

Before coming to Australia, I have been using Clarins Eye Contour Balm. It is not too rich and it never cause any problem of over-mosturizing. I could not feel much difference as what I did was to take preventive measure!

Coming to australia, the weather change might be too harsh for my skin. Australia is dryer than Singapore. Co-incidentally, I finished up my last drip of eye balm. Therefore, I went for a hunt for a nice eye-cream. Read the rest of this entry »

Recently I had attended a couple of job interviews. Due to my limited wardrobe, I am very limited in my choice for interview attire.. I normally wear a suit. Apart from business suit, are there any possible choices?

First impression is the most important one. Every interview tips will include an advice for you to wear appropriately. As in many advices, the attire should be appropriate to the industry you are working in. You should always look professional, tidy and put together. I believe we can also use our clothing to express our personality. Although it is advised that the attire should be subtle and preferably dark colour, can we wear some brighter colours? Can we not wear suit?

I think suit is still the best choice as it is formal. It is always better to be too formal then too casual!

This is my only suit which I bought it in a shop, namely DANO in Singapore for about SGD120..

What do you think?

But I am getting bored keep wearing the formal and a-bit-dull-looking suit.. So I am thinking of making my outfit look a little bit more cheerful and brighter. I have a few ideas for myself: Read the rest of this entry »

I love shoes!

December 9, 2007

I love shoes a lot. But the problem is always the love-hate relationship of stylish-price-comfortability. A nice pair of heels make a gal feel extra sexy but it doesn’t come cheap normally.

I am not rich, so I cannot afford to buy the expensive designer shoes. No matter how much I drool over the Christian Louboutin’s luxury red soles, I can only try my best to find frugal substitutes.

In Malaysia, there are a couple of famous brands that sell affordable women footwears like Vincci, Marie Claire by Bata, etc. Almost every women in Malaysia knows Vincci. I will say a decent pair of Vincci heels may cost us about RM30-RM70. They make nice heels and wedges that are suitable for Malaysian weather. Personally I quite like heels by Marie Claire by Bata. They are pretty and durable.

When I moved to Singapore to study, I came to know a few well-known affordable brands in Singapore such as Charles & Keith, PrettyFit, etc. I quite like the design of C&K recently. I think the designs of their shoes improve a lot in recent years. A decent pair of heels in Singapore will cost me about SGD30-100. Obviously, I still buy more of my footwear in Malaysia as I go back to Malaysia every month.
