Long hiatus

Sorry for the long hiatus because of Chinese New Year.

Celebrated Chinese New Year with my family in Malaysia and many things happened. Something bad and something good. I wish all my chinese friends a very happy and prosperous lunar year ahead.

It has been a feast of food too – all kinds of new year snacks and sweets as well as the very evil “bak gua”. I have gained a few pounds over these 2 weeks, which is particularly noticeable in tummy area.

Some effective tummy exercises:

Reverse crunch

A Lie on your back with your legs straight up and stacked over your hips. Rest your arms on the floor at your sides with your palms facing down.

B Contract your lower abs, bringing your hips toward your chest and lifting your butt. Once you’ve curled your lower body as far as you can, go to the starting position. Do 15-20 times.

Plank

A Lie face down on a mat with elbows on the floor parallel to your chest, palms facing down.

B Lift your body off the floor in a push-up position, rising up onto your toes, but resting on your elbows. Tighten your ab muscles by keeping your body in a straight line from head to toe. Hold for 20-60 seconds; work up to five reps.
