My new love: Chanel 2.55 purse

I have been eyeing this purse for long time. But as I am not rich, I have never paid much attention to what purse this is.. I just want to find something similar to this at budget price.

However, Vanessa Hudgens carried a black one in one of her outings. She looked so cool and put together. She always dresses herself nicely and appropriate for her age.

 

and also a lot of other celebrities that heart the Chanel 2.55!

It does not get any more classic than this. Launched in February 1955, the Chanel 2.55 (Get it?) is as stylish today as it was 50 years ago. The bag features a double chain shoulder strap that allows a woman’s hands to be free, a special invention of Coco Chanel.

Chanel has reissued this epic design that started it all. Subdued turn clasp is sans the CC claps we are used to, making it more discrete. Double flap closure, and exterior love letter pocket complete the design. The purse is being created in seven sizes and three colors; gray with ruthenium, white with antique nickel, and black with aged gold hardware. Prices range from $1795-2490 (Ouch!).

And I fall in love with this ivory 2.55 with gold hardware. Four letters – PURE.

You have to see these bags to truly appreciate them. The leather is deliciously distressed, having a wrinkly look resembling your great grand mothers antique leather couch. The colors look like oil paintings, there is so many layers worked into the leather. Though the chain strap is not the woven chain and leather strap we are used from Chanel, it is so charming and recognizable. How many designers effectively use a chain strap? Near to none! The chain is akin to a piece of vintage jewelry. It is three linking chains, the middle having a delicate filigree pattern stamped onto to metal. Details like this are awe inspiring.

The purses may strike some as old fashion, others say classic. It is the perfect compliment to vintage inspired designer clothes that are on the market now. If words like timeless, vintage, classic, and feminine define your style, than this is the purse for you!

Another version makes use of exotic lambskin. The Chanel 2.55 Washed Lambskin bags come in beautiful light colors and look as supple as can be. I like the one in blue. It looks like the colour of beautiful clear sky. I like the pink one as well. It looks so feminine. I like the yellow one as well… It feels so summery and we are now in SUMMER in Aussie!! I love them all… This ostrich skin Chanel 2.55 is also such a darling! If only I can have them all…

But if I were to buy one and only one, I will go for the classic black with gold hardware – the one carried by Vanessa. And I love the size as well. I love it to be so tiny and cute and suitable for my petite frame.
